    Katherine Alexander Anderson has been on the forefront of delivering quality patient care for over 20 years. Prior to her career in Chinese medicine, Katherine held leadership roles in long term care, sub-acute  care and diagnostic laboratory operations. She holds a bachelor’s degree in health management & policy and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of New Hampshire, and a  master’s in oriental medicine from the New England School of  Acupuncture.

    She is nationally board certified in acupuncture and oriental medicine (NCCAOM), and is an active member of the New England Fertility Society and the American Society for Reproductive Medicine  (ASRM).

    Katherine’s private practice is focused exclusively on treating reproductive issues and women’s health with clinics in Maine and New Hampshire. As a fellow of the American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine(ABORM), Katherine has completed advanced fellowship training in reproductive medicine and gynecology in Nanjing, China.

    She is currently researching the underpinnings of the menstrual cycle and it's long-term effects on fertility, and is working collaboratively with the University of New Hampshire Engineering Department in the design of a neuroendocrinological model mapping the normalizing effects of acupuncture on ovulation.

  • Sadie is passionate about her work and dedicated to helping her patients. As co-founder of Sage Acupuncture in Austin, TX, she takes a comprehensive approach to optimizing fertility by tailoring treatments to each person’s unique situation. For over a decade she has specialized in Oriental Reproductive Medicine with compassion and care.
  • In addition to her private practice, Sadie has worked in several interdisciplinary settings including: The Texas Fertility Center, Austin Surgical Hospital, The Genetics & IVF Institute of Virginia, Tulsi  Holistic Living, and the Carl Vogel Center of Washington, DC. From  family medicine to HIV and IVF clinical settings, she has seen that utilizing an interdisciplinary approach brings great benefit to patient  care and outcomes.

    Diane Cridennda
    Diane K. Cridennda, ABORM Secretary, L.Ac., DOM, (FABORM)

    At East Winds Acupuncture, Diane Cridennda, L.Ac. has dedicated a significant
    amount of her practice to treating infertility. She has teamed with Reproductive
    Medicine & Fertility Center, Center for Reproductive Medicine, Conceptions,
    Fertility Center of Colorado and RMFC @ NM to assist in the treatment of In
    Vitro Fertilization patients and provides acupuncture services to patients
    struggling with infertility.

    Diane continues her research projects with Reproductive Medicine & Fertility
    Center ™ adding acupuncture to high tech fertility treatments, IVF (In Vitro
    Fertilization). Her research with IVF demonstrated a higher percent chance of pregnancy, and more
    importantly, more take home babies, fewer ectopic pregnancies and fewer miscarriages to those women
     who had acupuncture.

    Diane’s research on Poor Prognosis IVF Patients is published in the supplement of Fertility and Sterility
    Vol. 81 Sup 3 April 2004. It won the Private Practice Physician’s award for Research. She presented her
    work to the Pacific Coast Reproductive Society (PCRS) in 2005 on Improvement of IVF Outcomes by
    Acupuncture. She has also presented her work on Good Prognosis IVF patients to the American Society
    for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) annual meeting in Philadelphia as well as reporting to The World
    Congress For Human Reproduction in Venice Italy on Acupuncture: Impact on Pregnancy Outcomes in
    IVF Patients.

    Diane is currently investigating the role of the stress hormone Cortisol on the impact of acupuncture in
    IVF outcomes. Acupuncture is an option for infertility whether you are using high tech fertility treatments
    or if you want to take a more natural approach. Diane believes “We must take advantage of the
    breakthroughs in modern technology, but we can’t lose touch with the ancient wisdom of Chinese

    Ray Rubio
    Ray Rubio, ABORM Executive Director, D.A.O.M., L.Ac., (FABORM)

    Ray Rubio is Executive Director of the American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine (ABORM), and Chair of the Reproductive Medicine Department at the Yo San University DAOM Program in Los Angeles. Dr. Rubio has been in practice for
    more than a decade, and his practice focuses exclusively on the treatment
    of Male and Female Reproductive Disorders/Infertility.

    Dr. Rubio is a member in good standing of ASRM, PCRS, ESHRE, and Resolve,
    and he lectures frequently to Acupuncturists on the topic of Infertility and
    TCM. Dr. Rubio is also President of the Complementary and Alternative
    Medicine Special Interest Group for the American Society for Reproductive
    Medicine (ASRM).

    Dr. Rubio has also presented to the REI Fellows Program UCLA/Cedars Sinai Medical School program, and
    he lectures on the subject of Male and Female Infertility for the Lotus Institute, Health Stream/TCM TV,
    and for both the AAAOM Expo and the Southwest Symposium. He also mentors other Acupuncturists who
    wish to study Reproductive Medicine.

    Colleen Smith started her career as a registered nurse (RN) and has been practicing nursing since 1986. She attended American College of Acupuncture in Houston with a Masters in Oriental Medicine. Coleen had training at Hang Zhou Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital and Tian Jin Acupuncture Hospital in China.

    Coleen is a Diplomat, nationally certified in Oriental Medicine by the NCCAOM (DipNCCAOM, L.Ac.,CHM.). She is a board certified fellow of the ABORM, (American Board of Reproductive Medicine) since its inception in 2008. She received her Doctorate in 2012 at American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in San Francisco, specializing in pain in women’s health.

    Coleen is empathetic, dynamic and knowledgeable. Coleen is proud to have been active in ASRM since 2009, and involved in establishing a CAM-sig for the last four years, of which she is the new chairperson. As an Eastern Asian Medical Practitioner Coleen works with her patients to provide quality natural reproductive enhancement and care. She has a comforting manner and a reassuring way of assisting women, couples, and men with a variety of health concerns.

  • Cecil Horwitz, founder and clinical director of Whole Family Health, is an acupuncturist and Chinese herbalist with more than 7 years’ experience in women’s, men’s, and pediatric health.
  • Cecil is board certified with the College and Association of Acupuncturists of Alberta (CAAA), is a certified Chinese Herbologist, is certified in obstetrical acupuncture, and is a board certified fellow of the American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine (ABORM). Cecil is also trained in shonishin pediatric acupuncture and is Harvard trained in the field of Mind Body Medicine.
  • Wanting to be at the forefront of combining Eastern and Western Medicine in fertility medicine, Cecil pursued large scale education in the reproductive health of women and men dealing with the desire to conceive naturally or in conjunction with Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ART). Having completed graduate training with respected experts in his field, Cecil is a specialist in the areas of women’s health, reproductive medicine, and also pediatric care.
  • Education and clinical research is of keen interest to Cecil. He is currently teaching Complementary and Alternative Medicine for Interprofessional Health Team Development at the University of Alberta Medical School, and is a clinical supervisor in acupuncture program at Grant MacEwan University. He is also involved with the Pediatric Integrative Medicine (PIM) Trial at the Stollery Children’s Hospital in Edmonton, which is the first trial of its kind to assess the impact of PIM service for hospitalized children. Cecil’s passion for health encompasses all stages of family, reaching the before, during, and after phases of a families desire to conceive, expanding specialization into pediatric care as well.

    Cecil’s practice Whole Family Health in Edmonton, Alberta currently has 4 acupuncturists, a naturopathic doctor, a massage therapist, a fitness instructor, and amazing support staff. An important team mission of the practice is to continue to seek out Western medical practitioners who are interested in working in an integrative environment. Becoming a Fellow of the ABORM is Cecil’s next step to achieving this goal, and he couldn’t be more excited and honoured to be a part of the ABORM.

    Julie McCormick is a licensed acupuncturist with a focus on women’s health and infertility. She is licensed by the Minnesota Medical Board, is board certified in both Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM), and is a Fellow of the American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine (ABORM).

    Julie holds a master’s degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from the American Academy of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in Roseville, Minnesota.  Prior to her work in Chinese medicine, Julie worked in the field of chemistry, and holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of Minnesota –Morris. She is a member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), the Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine Association of Minnesota (AOMAM), the Resolve network, and the American Holistic Medical Association (AHMA).

    Combining her deep knowledge of the tradition of Chinese medicine with a passion for health education, Julie strives to offer natural, effective healing. Julie believes in the importance of teaching her patients about the small changes in their daily lives which can add up to strength and vibrant wellness, and she joins acupuncture and herbal therapies with dietary and lifestyle advice.

    Julie keeps busy in her full-time practice in Saint Paul, Minnesota, but when she is not there you will find her either outdoors—hiking or cross country skiing with her family—or sitting in front of the fire with a good book.

  • Taya Volin is a founder and director of the Absolute Balance Acupuncture Clinic. She is nationally Board certified (NCCAOM) in both acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine, and is licensed to practice acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in the States of New Jersey and New York.
  • Taya is a fellow of the American Board of Reproductive Oriental Medicine (ABORM), a member in good standing of American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), as well as RESOLVE – the National Infertility Association, and the Society for Acupuncture Research (SAR). She also is serving on Board of Directors of New Jersey Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NJAAOM).
  • Taya Volin originally graduated from the 1st Moscow Medical Academy (Russia) with a Medical Degree, specializing in the Infectious Diseases. Coming from that field, she strongly believes in the absolute necessity in integration of different medical modalities such as Western and Eastern branches of medicine, as well as need in implementing more preventative measures in every aspect of medical and everyday life to achieve and sustain overall good health at any age level.

    Julie Booker practices in Seattle at Acupuncture Northwest and Associates, an integrative clinic specializing in reproductive health, fertility, gynecology and pregnancy care. She is a licensed and national board certified acupuncturist and Chinese herbalist and a Fellow of the American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine (ABORM).

    Julie received her Master’s degree in Oriental Medicine from from the Northwest Institute of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in 2003. She also completed post-graduate training in acupuncture and Chinese herbology in gynecology. Her specialties include OB/GYN and women’s health, infertility and assisted reproduction support. 

    She treats patients using acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine, supplements and life style counseling in combination with a deep understanding of western medical conditions and protocols. She enjoys giving talks and oral presentations to the medical community regarding the role of TCM and the treatment of infertility.
