The ABORM Board of Advisors serve in an Advisory and Consultancy role only. They are non-voting Advisors to the Board of Directors and the ABORM Membership at-large, and while all are subject matter experts in the field of Reproductive Medicine and Infertility, some Advisors are ABORM Fellows, and some are Physicians/REI’s.

Paul C. Magarelli, M.D., Ph.D., FACOG

Dr. Magarelli is a Board Certified RE&I practicing in Colorado Springs since 1998, Dr. Paul C. Magarelli is a nationally noted specialist in Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility. He is founder and Medical Director of Reproductive Medicine & Fertility Centers in Colorado and New Mexico. He is Associate professor and UNM IVF center medical director at the University of New Mexico and Clinical Professor at Yo San University in LA, CA where he teaches Ph.D. TCM candidates western medicine with integration with Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). He is Founding Advisor to the American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine.
Dr. Magarelli has presented and published ground breaking research in the area of integrating Eastern (Acupuncture) and Western medical treatments for infertility. Today, he continues to investigate the role of Traditional Chinese Medicine in treating IVF patients, thereby forging the way for the future of reproductive medicine.
Among his many accomplishments, Dr. Magarelli was honored as the recipient of the Reproductive Scientist Award in 1994 by the American Society for Reproductive Medicine and the Practicing Physicians Award in 2004 by the Pacific Coast Reproductive Society (PCRS). He also served as a member of the Board of Directors for PCRS. Currently he is Vice President/Financial for PCRS. He is currently President Elect of the PCRS 2012-2013.
Dr. Magarelli brings a very unique background to RMFC. He has a Ph.D. in Nutritional Biochemistry specializing in Marine Animal Reproduction. He has worked for General Mills heading a research program and their learned the value of “bottom Line” planning. With this varied background Dr. Magarelli has developed very Cost Effective plans for fertility care: Planning 4 Pregnancy ™ and has developed computerized information systems with Broadband access and video conferencing to allow remote medical practices to operate at peak efficiency for the reproductive care of his patients. He also prides himself in providing High Tech with a Personal Touch ™. Recently he developed a Cross Border Donor Program for IVF centers in Western Canada… these programs are one of the most cost effective plans to help Canadian couples grow or create their families.
He has authored numerous abstracts and articles in peer review journals in his subspecialty, and is currently a reviewer for the journal “Fertility & Sterility. His book chapter: Revolution in Assisted Reproductive Technologies: The Role of Traditional Chinese Medicine on IVF outcomes. Cambridge University Press. “Infertility and Assisted Reproduction” represents the first Eastern Medicine chapter in a Western Medicine textbook on reproductive medicine. October 2008 he presented his data on Acupuncture and IVF in Venice and was plenary speaker (2006) at the American Associate of Medical Acupuncturists’ meeting in Washington D.C. He has presented at the Society for Acupuncture Research, American Oriental Medicine Association, and the American Association of Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine national meetings.
Dr. Magarelli is a member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine and the Society of Assisted Reproductive Technologies. He is also a member of the Pacific Coast Fertility Society. He is a advisor to the American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine.

Joseph S Sanfilippo, MD, MBA FACOG
Joseph S Sanfilippo, MD, MBA FACOG is tenured professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology & Reproductive Sciences at University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine; Distinguished Alumnus, Rosalind Frankin University of Medicine & Science-Chicago Medical School. He is also distinguished alumnus at Chatham University where he received his Masters of Business Administration. Dr. Sanfilippo is a member of the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha medical society.
He is the recipient of the American Medical Association Physician Recognition Award, Who’s Who in Medicine, and the Lifetime Achievement Award of the Federation Internationale Infantile & Pediatric Gynecology. He has published over 30 textbooks and 130 peer reviewed research articles. He is past president of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine A highly regarded expert, he has been named one of America’s Top Doctors.

Dr. Daoshing Ni, D.O.M, L.Ac., Ph.D., Dipl.C.H.
Dr. Dao is a Licensed Acupuncturist in the State of California and is a Diplomat of Chinese Herbology NCCA. Dr. Dao has been active in the TCM profession as well as professional organizations. He was an examiner for the California Acupuncture Committee and also participated in the Chinese Herbology Exam development for NCCA. Well known and respected for his special interest in reproductive and gynecological conditions. Dr. Dao is a member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, Pacific Coast Fertility Society, and American Association of Oriental Medicine.

Dana Price (she/her) – DOM, Dipl. O.M., L.Ac., FABORM
Dana Price is the founder and clinical director at ilumina Healing Sanctuary in Scottsdale, Arizona. Since 2002, ilumina has offered Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine with specialization in fertility, pregnancy, and women’s health. As a pioneer in her field she established the use of acupuncture in combination with IVF and has been working alongside Phoenix’s reproductive endocrinologists for over 20 yers.
As an Arizona native, she attended the University of Arizona and earned a degree in Anthropology. Upon graduation she moved to New Mexico to earn her Master’s degree from the International Institute of Chinese Medicine in which she graduated as class valedictorian.
Her clinical studies were completed with an internship in gynecology and Chinese Herbal Medicine at the Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Sichuan, China. Dana made a commitment early on to specialize in the treatment of women’s health — specifically fertility enhancement and pregnancy-related disorders. She has collaborated with many reproductive endocrinologists, obstetrician gynecologists, and perinatologists and is a sought-after teacher and nationally renowned expert in her field.
Dana is a founding member of the ABORM and has been involved with the organization since 2007 and has served on the executive board as Secretary. Dana also was a board member of the Arizona State Board of Acupuncture Examiners and the ASAOM in Arizona based professional organization. She has been a faculty member at the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine and the Phoenix Institute of Herbal Medicine and Acupuncture.

Sadie Minkoff L.Ac., FABORM
Sadie Minkoff is the clinical director of the largest reproductive acupuncture practice in central Texas, a pioneer in the field, she is known for her intuitive and compassionate care. For over twenty years she has worked with her partner, Dr. Mitch Schreiber DACM. Together they opened Sage Acupuncture, Austin’s premier holistic fertility clinic. Later they founded The Cancer Wellness Center for patients, survivors, and their caregivers. Sadie and Mitch dedicated their life’s work to fertility and oncology because their family has been personally touched by both. It is their mission to support others faced with these challenges by providing exceptional care in a healing environment.
Sadie has seen first hand the great benefit that an interdisciplinary approach to healing can bring. In addition to her private practice, she has worked in various clinical settings including The Texas Fertility Center, Austin Surgical Hospital, Central Family Practice, The Genetics & IVF Institute of Virginia, Tulsi Holistic Living, and the Carl Vogel Center of Washington, DC.
She is an inaugural Fellow of ABORM the Acupuncture Board of TCM and Reproductive Medicine and serves as Vice President and Interim Executive Director. She holds certification in Infertility, Prenatal Care, and Maternal Health from the Kharrazian Institute for Functional Medicine, is a certified Obstetrical Acupuncture Association senior member, is licensed by the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners, nationally certified by the NCCAOM, and holds a four year Masters of Science degree from AOMA Graduate School of Integrative Medicine. In 2019 she was highlighted as one of AOMA’s most successful alumni.
Sadie has been a guest lecturer at AOMA Graduate School of Integrative Medicine as well as the The Texas College of Traditional Chinese Medicine and has UT Health Medical students shadow her as part of their REI rotation. In 2006 she contributed to a peer review of “Chinese Medical Herbology and Pharmacology,” by the Art of Medicine Press.
One of the most rewarding aspects of Sadie’s work is educating patients, other acupuncturists, and healthcare professionals about integrative reproductive medicine. For many years Sage has been honored to receive the Austin Birth Award for Best Acupuncture Clinic and Best Herbalist. They were also named best Austin acupuncturists in Tribeza Magazine Wellness Guide and by Expertise.com.

Paul J. Turek, M.D.
Dr. Turek is Director of The Turek Clinic, a men’s health clinic in San Francisco. He is a former Professor of Urology, Obstetrics & Gynecology at the UCSF and held the Academy of Medical Educators Endowed Chair in Urology Education. He is an internationally noted master microsurgeon and men’s reproductive healthcare specialist.
Dr. Turek attended Yale College, followed by Stanford University Medical School. Following a urology residency at the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Turek was fellowship trained at Baylor College of Medicine. His 175 publications include basic and clinical research that focuses on germ and stem cell genetics, and epidemiologic studies of men’s sexual and reproductive health problems. He is on the Advisory Board of the national Men’s Health Care Network and the NIH Reproductive Medicine Network and he is the Editor of the Reproductive Volume of Netter’s Images, 2nd Edition, due out in 2011.
He is President of the American Society of Andrology, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, the Société Internationale d’Urologie and the Royal Society of Medicine (London). He has chaired numerous courses for the Society for the Study of Male Reproduction and the Society for Male Reproduction and Urology. In San Francisco, he recently founded a volunteer medical clinic powered by retired physicians for the working uninsured. His hobbies include vintage cars and longboard surfing.

Jane is qualified as a research scientist and Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). After thirty years of TCM clinical experience and having had the privilege of working in hospital gynaecology departments with some of China’s best known specialists, she sits comfortably with the logic of both Chinese medicine and western science and feels both can contribute greatly to positive therapeutic outcomes for the patient.
Jane is the Director of a multi-modality medical centre in Sydney where she practices TCM focusing on her specialty in gynaecology and infertility.
Jane is the author of the preeminent authoritative text on the treatment of reproductive disorders with Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM): “The Treatment of Infertility with Chinese Medicine”, published by Churchill Livingston Press.
She is also the co-author of “The Clinical Handbook of Internal Medicine” Volumes 1 and 2, published by UWS and Pangolin Press.
